In one sentence

A light-hearted action RPG: three classes, over 75 mythical items and odd bosses.

Short description

You’re new to this adventuring business, and a dragon has already taken the princess. Pick one of three classes and set off through forests, caves, swamps and castles. Along the way you’ll find over 75 mythical items, most with a trick of their own. You’ll also meet eight slightly odd bosses and locals with their own troubles.

Full description

You’re new to this adventuring business, and a dragon has already taken the princess. Slashin’ is an action RPG for phones, with real-time combat and plenty of loot.

First you pick a class. Duramen fights with melee weapons, Slyboots shoots a bow and Wiseacre casts spells. Each class has skills of its own. Then you pick a race, from human and dwarf to foxman and devil.

The road to the princess runs through forests, caves, swamps, dungeons and a castle. Most maps are generated anew each time you load the game. Along the way there are towns, inns and shops. The locals have troubles of their own and are happy to share them.

Items come in five quality tiers, from normal to mythical. Their properties are rolled at random. Over 75 mythical items add effects of their own on top. Most of them have a description that hints at what they do. Glass Slippers: “Sometimes you simply must run like it’s midnight.”

Eight bosses stand in the way, and some of them are a bit odd. Finishing the story doesn’t end the game. It unlocks a harder difficulty. The Infinite Dungeon and the Wave Arena, with its daily leaderboard, are waiting too.

You can sell your loot to other players in the Auction House or send it to a friend through the Magical Post Office. The campaign also works offline.

History

The first Slashin’ came out on iOS in December 2015. Ten years later it’s back, rebuilt on a new engine for Android and iOS. Its world and characters come from the original.

Features

01

Three classes

Duramen is a master of melee weapons. Slyboots is quick with a bow. Wiseacre casts spells and stuff. Each class has skills of its own; attributes and gear are up to you.

02

Over 75 mythical items

Most have a trick of their own. Glass Slippers: “Sometimes you simply must run like it’s midnight.” Ordinary loot comes in quality tiers with randomly rolled properties.

03

Eight bosses

They stand between you and the princess, and some are a bit odd. It’s hard to describe the Crazy Cat Lady or the Big Bad Devil any other way.

04

A new road every time

Most forests, caves, swamps and castles are generated anew each time you load the game, so even familiar ground can surprise you.

05

The princess is not the end

Finishing the story unlocks a harder difficulty. Then there is the Infinite Dungeon, and the Wave Arena with a daily leaderboard.

06

Auction House and Magical Post Office

Sell your loot to other players or send a gift to a friend. The leaderboards show how you stack up against everyone else.

Item quality
Five tiers: normal, magic (1 or 2 random properties), rare (3 or 4), fabulous (5 or 6) and mythical.

Over 75, each with its own name and effects. Most have a description that hints at what they do. Some cast lightning, frost or a fireball on their own.
